This October, our teammates in Phoenix had the opportunity to volunteer with Keep Phoenix Beautiful at their community garden off Pierson Street. We helped with some beautification projects around the garden so the community can enjoy it!

The biggest thing is to make make a positive impact on our environment and communities and give opportunities to preserve wildlife. There’s wildlife that we don’t’ know maybe living in these vegetation, maybe causing a ruckus for the people here. We get in her to clean it up, make sure these people are safer in these areas. To coincide with he wildlife because they were here before us.

Garden Clean Up

A canal runs along the garden. Recently, there had been a lot of rain, and the grass in the canal was very long. They haven’t been able to cut it down. Our team hoped to clear out the canal. We needed to rake and bag the cut grass too. The rain would have swept the clippings to the drain which could have caused flooding in the neighborhood.

Garden Bed Clean Up

Keep Phoenix Beautiful has been managing this garden for nine years, and these garden beds have been there since then! In fact, these beds made the trip from the original location down Indian School Road!

We repainted these garden beds to brighten the garden and prepared them for the schoolchildren who come to the garden once a week. We also helped reorganize their shed and created soil for gardening.

Our Critter Control Miami teammates partnered with the City of Miami Solid Waste Department and Keep Miami Beautiful for a special beautification project at Juan Pablo Duarte Park in Miami, FL.

Together, we planted four evergreen magnolia trees and spread 96 bags of mulch throughout the park! These trees can grow up to 8 meters tall and will fill the area with beautiful white blooms and a sweet, lemony fragrance.

We’re proud to support projects that enhance the environment and strengthen the communities we serve.

We’re focusing on community service that impacts the local environment. We want to help protect wildlife and their natural habitats near our customers’ homes. It’s a chance to give back in a way that reflects who we are and what we stand for.

East Lake Park in Birmingham, AL

The Birmingham team spent the day in an under-resourced area of the city conducting a litter pickup. The team cleaned up around the beautiful East Lake Park, a scenic site frequently used for community gathering, and the surrounding neighborhood. It was a wonderful day of community collaboration as we were able to team up with KAB affiliate, Keep Birmingham Beautiful, and City Councilman, J.T. Moore.

The garden is primarily for elderly residents in the area so they can enjoy fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs, and a place to gather. Planting trees and gardens also has a significant positive impact on the environment, contributing to improved air and water quality for the community, climate change mitigation, and habitat preservation.
