Our Houston team rolled up their sleeves in The Woodlands, TX! We had the opportunity to volunteer with Keep America Beautiful, Keep Texas Beautiful, and The Woodlands Township for a cleanup and beautification project at Wendtwoods Park.
Park Cleanup and Beautification
Before getting started, the team removed about 30 gallons of trash from around the park! Volunteers also planted 103 milkweed and other nectar-producing flowers to help create habitat for monarch butterflies and other pollinators.
The Woodlands Township plans to pursue Monarch Waystation designation through the Monarch Watch program, which recognizes habitats that provide the food resources and shelter monarchs need throughout their life cycle. If approved, the site would join a growing network of habitats dedicated to supporting monarch conservation efforts.
