Huber, GA, is home to wildlife pests like skunks, raccoons, and rats. All three of these animals forage in trash bins looking for food and damage property by digging holes in lawns, burrowing under homes and sheds, and enlarging holes in the exterior of buildings, respectively. They also spread diseases such as rabies, leptospirosis, and salmonellosis. Snakes are also found in the Huber area. They infest lawns with plenty of ground cover in the form of firewood, rocks, and tall grasses. Since there are approximately six venomous species found in Georgia, homeowners should refrain from handling snakes in any capacity.
