Vail, AZ, is located near an extensive cave system. As such, bats are attracted to the area in large numbers. These pests accidently get trapped inside homes and may bite people in their frantic search for an escape. This is especially dangerous because they are known carriers of rabies. Additionally, bat guano spreads unpleasant odors throughout homes and facilitates the growth of the fungus that causes histoplasmosis. Unfortunately, rats are found in Vail, as well. They gather in kitchens, attics, basements, and wall voids where they spread diseases and damage property.
