Traverse City, Michigan – March 25, 2013 - Critter Control® has been recognized as one of the 2013 “Michigan 50 Companies to Watch” - an awards program sponsored by the Edward Lowe Foundation and presented by Michigan Celebrates Small Business. Critter Control will be honored at an awards ceremony during the ninth annual Michigan Celebrates Small Business event in May.
Founded in 1983, Critter Control is a leader and innovator developing environmentally responsible techniques for handling nuisance wildlife and pest problems for homeowners, businesses and municipalities. Today, as North America’s largest wildlife pest control firm the company has over 100 offices coast-to-coast.
“We have a great team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about integrating education, prevention and habitat modification with full-service wildlife and pest management solutions,” said Kevin Clark, Critter Control’s founder and CEO. Mr. Clark started the business 30 years ago when he pulled his first raccoon out of a smoke stack as a chimney sweep in suburban Detroit. Shortly thereafter, he trademarked Critter Control.
Companies making it to the “Michigan 50 Companies to Watch” list are a remarkable group of companies defined as having 6 to 99 full-time-equivalent employees and generating $750,000 to $50 million in annual revenue. These companies form the backbone of Michigan’s economy. Representing all regions of the state and a diverse range of industries, companies like Critter Control are known for their exceptional entrepreneurial leadership, creation of innovation or use of innovation in creative ways, and their sustainable competitive advantage.
Winners were selected by Michigan-based judges from the banking, economic development, entrepreneurship development, industrial and venture capital communities.
